They turned out so cute!  Did you apply icing to the sides of the cakes before applying the chocolate wraps?  If not, did you have any problems with it adhering to the bare cake?

No, no icing... that was part of the plan. I wanted to avoid having to ice them if at all possible. The chocolate stuck to them just fine.
