AA Rosettes

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know a link to a list of all the Rosetted (AA) restaurants in the uk. I need to do a bit of research but i can't find it on the AA website.

Is this what you are looking for?

But how do you list the ones with rosettes?

Unlike the ViaMichelin website it doesn't look like you can search based on rosettes etc. The best I could see is to do a search for a location and you can then set "sort results by" to "Food quality".

I'm glad someone started a thread on AA Rosettes because I really don't understand them. I've been to a number of Rosette winning places and never been particularly thrilled. What is the criteria on which they (whoever 'they' is)base their awards? And what exactly does a restaurant being given a rosette mean?

And what exactly does a restaurant being given a rosette mean?

All depends......

I mean, it means very different things to all people!

There are published criteria of sorts and you can find them in the front of the guide.

There are a number of longstanding problems with the AA, which is a pity because the book remains a missed opportunity in my view. I edited it for a while and it was a continual struggle to try and improve the credibility of the guide and it's usefulness to the reader in the face of commercial pressures.

There's a little piece on one of the bigger problems here http://www.caterersearch.com/Articles/2005...39;t+solved.htm
