Cookie of the Month Club

Recommended Posts

As I posted in the cookie dough discussion, I do a Cookie of the Month Club for my boyfriend's grandma and my little brother. I started in December and have run out of ideas! I had it all planned out from the beginning, but then discovered that grandma had dentures and truly only liked my chewy cookies! So, I need your help! Here's what I have made so far: Jam Thumbprints, Black and White Cookies, Brownie Cookies, Snickerdoodles, Peanut Butter Cookies, No-Bake Cookies, Kitchen Sink Cookies, and I can't remember what the other one was! I'm planning on making carrot cookies, but will save those for more into the fall. I think I'm just tired of cookies, so I need your help to re-interest me! They need to be:

1. Chewy

2. Not too unique :)

3. Somewhat easy to mail

Thank you SO much in advance!

Katie

Introduce your boyfriends grandma to the fine practice of cookie dunkin. Its what dentally challenged and true gourmets have been doing for generations.

I make several cookies that I got from Everyday Living magazine. If you go to http://www.marthastewart.com she's got tons of cookie recipes.

My current favorites are the oatmeal chocolate chunk recipe they published (I don't use the chocolate instead I use raisins) and a chocolate cookie I think they called something like"simply outragous chocolate cookies". Both recipes I believe were given to the magazine by readers (readers choice or cookie of the month type of feature). (The chocolate cookie does not contain flour and it is outragously good!)

CIs Glazed Lemon Cookies are amazingly good. They have that sandy crumbly texture that is very easy to chew.

The only problem would be the glaze. You are supposed to glaze the day you serve. However, I think they would still be delicious without it.

I mail cookies to my mom a lot, and she really likes spice cookies. I really enjoy cook's illustrated "gingerbread worth eating" recipe. Pfeffernusse also ship well. They are the type of cookie that just get better as they cure. PM me if you want any recipes

I you don't mind, we prefer everyone post recipes in public on threads so everyone can share and participate. If you need help understanding how to adapt a published recipe so it doesn't violate copy right law, please feel free to ask me or any host your questions.

These peanut butter, date + chocolate chip cookies are super-chewy. And gluten free!! (oh please).

And you might find some other ideas on that thread.

I was mooching through some magazines at the doctor's last night + came across a recipe for toffee apple cookies that used dried apple chunks + chopped toffees (they'd used Werther's Originals). they looked great, I must say - and would certainly be chewy...

I've been making these cookies ever since I saw this episode on Martha Stewart Livng. Always get compliments on them. Be sure not to overbake and dried cranberries make a great substitute for the dried cherries.

And possibly for your Dec. selection, this recipe for Chewy Chocolate Gingerbread cookies are also fabulous!
