Lunch and/or Dinner in Giverny

Le Jardin of Giverny and The Hotel Baudy are my two favorites.

Hotel Baudy, definitely. And be sure to visit the garden behind, whose unpretentious informality you may find more agreeable than the one down the road where you have to queue up for half an hour to look at a water lily.

Ok, great. 2 Votes for the Hotel Baudy, so it seems the Hotel Baudy will be the place to go. And we will be sure to go to the gardens behind the hotel. Thank you for that extra recommendation. :smile

Here's a review of Les Jardins from Frommer. Be warned, it's expensive.

A note about the Baudy, it was once the hotel of Madame Baudy who boarded the American impressionists who came because of Monet. She liked the Americans very much and cooked turkey for them at Thansgiving. Now, no longer a hotel but a museum and restaurant. I snapped a beautiful photo of the Artist studio out back that they have in their collection.

There's a beautiful book titled "The Taste of Giverny." There are lovely photos of the Baudy and their recipes, and the nearby other favorite of mine. The Moulin de Fougues (in Fourgues)

Did you feel that the meal was worth the price at Les Jardins? And, if you did, would you mind recommending a few items?

More photos, details but don't know if it's up to date. one web site said they don't serve lunch but we were there for lunch. I had a wonderful duck with Calvados, but don't remember what my husband had.
