We miss D'artagnan.

Right, we can still get their products, of course, but the restaurant!

While nowhere near perfect, it was fun (and heavy) and we really liked it.

Where else could you get perfectly wonderful French Kisses?

(The ones I get in the store aren't nearly the same)

Prunes soaked in Armagnac, stuffed with Foie Gras Mousse!

smoked duck on a baguette with wine jelly and cheese... Oh i miss that place too..

I miss the place too... their cocktails based on white armagnac were great! As were all the wonderfully ducky dishes! And they had great tableware too.

Oh, that white armagnac was deadly!

I remember a magnificent dinner there, (with lots of wine and lots of those drinks), taking the slow NJ Transit train back to Philly, and moaning constantly, "Water, I need water!" Our dining companions and the other train riders were not amused.

on top of being a great place for dinner, it was a really easy place to just run into for lunch...

I too miss D'artagnan a lot. One of my all time favorite dishes in any restaurant anywhere was their poached foie gras in duck broth. Heavenly and not available elsewhere to my knnowledge.

On their final New Year's Eve, we had the 7-course Foie Gras Tasting Dinner - oh my, it was sublime!

Speaking of which, does anyone know which stores carry the French Kisses regularly? Many offer to order them, but I don't know who keeps them in stock. When I've ordered them, they seem to have been through the ringer in terms of freezing, thawing, etc.
