My husband gave me the fou de Bassan moniker because I typically cook in blue clogs that are the same color as the feet of the Northern Gannet.

As to yabby mousse, just for the name alone I'll have to make it!

Even if you decide to buy in Australia, this site will be very helpful in terms of figuring out what you need. I didn't realize that some things need only an adapter, others an adapter and converter; now I understand what each thing does and why, and the types of sockets I'll be dealing with.

I also have a KA mixer, so I feel your pain!

Here's another translation: chilly bin = cooler. I was in New Zealand on holiday last year, and when our guide made reference to "chilly bin," my bunkmate and I both said "What?" He pointed to what we thought was the cooler, and we both burst out giggling because the words "chilly bin" sounded so funny together!

Good news that you are enjoying Melbourne so far. You are probably feeling slightly Thanksgivingish about now - frozen cranberries (the same brand as I used in California) can be found in a little greengrocer in the Hawksburn village in South Yarra. At least, he had them last year - I forgot to check today. Can't remember its name but it's the only fruit & veg. in the 400 block of Malvern Road.

I'll try to get to the cranberry guy. It's terrible. Here I am craving braises and stews and the mercury's rising and people are grilling. I guess it will take some time for the internal food clock to revise itself!

what is an aerolatte - we have aero bars - bad chocolate puffed with air to make them light - or do you mean a machine to aerate milk mechanically for coffee??

Yes, yes the whizzer you put in milk. However, he's just frustrated because the espresso machine hasn't been unloaded yet.

Well, ahem, I'm flattered to be asked that question... but we (specialists) are not guardians of policy or behavious on the forums (love it when i can get all authoritative!) but in this case, my personal opinion is that it's a natural evolution of the original intent of the thread and should be allowed to proceed along this course until which time, should it occur, that the subject matter becomes so divergent so as to warrant an individual unique thread posting.

I think you can get those whizzy things at most major department stores.
