the article from neworleansnewschannel.com

Prudhomme and his team are taking nearly 4,000 pounds of food so they can cook for many of the 5,000 troops this weekend ...  Prudhomme said seven of his brothers served in World War II, and there was no way he could turn down an invitation to feed the troops. He's doing so at his own expense. The menu will include leek, shitake mushroom and sun-dried tomato soup; andouille sausage gumbo; mixed greens with mango lime vinaigrette or wasabi dressing; mashed potatoes and gingersnap gravy with chicken or beef; chipotle pasta with chicken; teriyaki sesame ginger fried rice; corn maque choux; chipotle chile cream pasta with chicken and New Orleans bread pudding.  In addition to that meal, Prudhomme will conduct three cooking exhibitions on Saturday, featuring New Orleans red beans over rice and brozed fish, teriyaki sesame cream pasta and bronzed chicken breast and gumbo and bronzed beef tenderloin.

Prudhomme is truly a one of a kind man .. he has so much to offer and does it with an open hand and an outstretched arm  .. and his cuisine is equally inviting and generous! Bravo, Chef, on your overflowing spirits!

Along the same lines - Wolfgang Puck cooked on the line in an aircraft carrier kitchen a while back. They had a mini-series about it - perhaps on CNBC. After his "tour of duty" was over - he cooked a special dinner for all of the officers. From the looks of what I saw on TV - a good time was had by all. Robyn
