Fresh raspberries from the Greenmarket

an assortment of heirloom tomatos

Beer steamed shrimp and corn bread

a hot bowl of extra spicy gumbo

Rancho Gordo Cannellini Beans

a thali plate from Dimples

sweet english peas tosssed with butter, parmesan and some pasta

sweet sugar snap peas tossed with mint

grilled marinated octopus with chickpeas

margharita pizza from pizza fresca

fresh home made peah ice cream

tart tartine made with northern spy apples

and

Mega bucks Tasting menu from Le Restaurant Frou Frou du Jour

Banana blueberry bran muffin, toasted with butter at Grey Dog. Great big iced latte to go with.

White bean bruschetta followed by white bean ravioli with brown butter sauce at Po.

Sausage rolls at midnight at Swift. <Guinness> Ham and cheese toastie at Puck Fair.

Bufala Mozzarella, prosciutto, salami, white bean salad (catch a trend here? ), provolone, etc. in a cold antipasti made just to my taste at Pellegrino's.

The giganto meat platter at Sushi Samba 7, eaten while all my friends, eating sushi, look at me with envy.

A big fat cinnamon bun from Baci cafe on 3rd Ave in the 70s (is it still open??).

A slice from Giorgio's - UES or EV, doesn't matter. I like 'em both.

Samosas and chicken tikka masala from Baluchi's in GV, my favorite delivery meal through all of my NYC-livin' days.

"One frank with" at Second Ave Deli (mustard & sauerkraut).

It doesn't travel well, the roll gets mushy fast. But consumed fresh from the counter -- ahh, that's the way to do it.

Japanese style cheesecake from Fay Da Bakery

Cha sui bao from Mei Lah Wah (grump old fart on the side)

Crispy hot dogs from Gray's Papaya

Strawberry pastries from Veniero's Bakery

White chocolate green tea cherry blossom truffle from Vosges

(Ok, at $3 a pop it's not simple but oh, so delicate and delish)

A new favorite is the Japanese-style steamed cheesecake from King Wah Bakery, Broadway

I like these rice cupcakes from a tofu place on Mott.

Although my all-time favorite is Papaya King, I tried Gray's for the first time ever

Just a few of my favorite things, there is so much to love in NY, food and elsethings!

Oh, I need to add to my list:

Any and all roasted meats/chicken from Chinatown. Especially if it's roasted baby pig. C'mon here, Babe, I got some chopsticks waitin' on you!

Breakfast with friends at Scobee Diner as the sun comes up. You can subsitute any traditional Greek diner.........but boy, do I missed diners.
