What A Waste?

Recommended Posts

I remember some years ago that the Japanese had come up with a way to recycle human waste into edible patties.

Obviously, this did not catch on.

Is there any plan to do more with waste than...

Well. Actually. What will you do with it?

Solid human waste is returned on the Shuttle. Urine is returned to earth also, but when the holding tanks get full during a mission, some might be dumped overboard. I don't work is this area, so I don't have all the info, but I believe that the human waste from ISS is put with the other trash in the Progress and jettisoned to burn up on entry into earth's atmosphere.
