Beaujolais Nouveau Vintage of Century

WTF, guys, I'm hosting a big family event for Thanksgiving and I'm sure I'll want to get loaded before it's too much past noon. I may as well get my cheap red wine headache started before dinner even begins.

I'll pick up at least a couple of your BN selections, but probably won't taste them until Thanksgiving.

I'll resist the urge to say something here about the Wine Clip. Doh! I just did.

Apparently there's a fourth river in Lyon:

PARIS (AFP) - Cocktail d'herbicides et de fongicides, soufre utilisé comme accélérateur de fermentation, rejets de polluants dans les eaux: l'association écologiste Robin des Bois a dénoncé mercredi la face cachée du Beaujolais nouveau, commercialisé à partir de jeudi. L'association a relevé dans un communiqué que "le Beaujolais produit plus d'eau polluée que de vin".

[the traditional joke was that Lyon had 3 rivers: Rhône, Saône, and Beaujolais].

So I found myself at a restaurant last night, where the usual signs informed me that it was BN day. I asked the bartender how it was, and he said "it's better than last year" with almost a straight face, and poured me a taste. It wasn't too bubblelicious-y, but it wasn't exciting either. I could drink a glass of it at a time with a modicum of pleasure, but certainly not a bottle.

The whiskey I ordered instead was the beginning of a long night, so forgive me if I've forgotten the producer.
