Food bookstore in Paris

A few days ago I read an article on a new trendy "foodie" bookstore in Paris, in the 10th or 11th, called "Food", but I'm unable to find their address or contact number. Anyone been there or know anything about it?

Sadly Food, the charming bookstore in the upper Marais which specialises in food related books that Fresh A mentionned above, will be closing their doors on December 14. In the meantime they are selling most books at half price, excluding newly released books. They will be open both December 3 and 10 from 2pm-7pm.

Today, I read an article on "FOOD" in the magazine "Série limitée" from Les Echoes. It talks about the passion on food of the ex-fashion journalist, Claude Deloffre. The articles mentions some of the possible food related events that will be held by the shop, a possible idea could be a festival on South Africa food.

The present events (with the participation of le Bon Marché)

- Les contes de fées

- Les fous de cuisine

- La cuisine buissonnière

Starting from February 2007, there will be an event "Kitchen Duets", a series of mini-conferences on given themes by an English and a French chef.

Doesn't sound to me that the bookstore is closing at all.

Perhaps they are relocating but they haven't said anything like that in any of their emails. Here is a bit from the email I received from the shop just today....

Nous fermons définitivement jeudi 14 décembre, mais serons

ouverts ce dimanche 10 décembre de 14h à 19h.

Passez prendre un dernier verre.

Claude DELOFFRE et Marie MERSIER

And here is the email they sent last week

Bad News :

FOOD fermera ses portes le 14 Décembre

Good News :

TOUS

nos livres

sont SOLDÉS

à MOITIÉ prix

( à part les nouveautés )

Nous serons ouverts les Dimanche 3 et 10

Décembre de 14H à 19H

I am sorry to confirm that Claude Deloffre is indeed closing her shop -- it seems selling books isn't much of a business these days (unless you're la Fnac of course).

As for the Kitchen Duets (one Brit + one French chef, each cooking their own interpretation of the same dish), they will be held at Selfridges, in London.

Clotilde.
