Thanks for posting that, Ed. I don't think I'd have found out about this Rum Fest without your post. I'll be in NYC that week, anyway, for the Whisky Fest the following night. Look forward to meeting you!

Cheers,

Jay

I'll also be at John Hansell's WhiskyFest. Here's some of the information on that:

America's largest and most influential whisky festival and

will be held at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square on Tuesday, October

21, 2003 from 6:30 to 10:00 pm. Attendees can enjoy more than 200

whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, and the U.S., thirteen of the most

entertaining distillery managers and master blenders giving seminars in

adjacent rooms, a Scottish crystal nosing glass that is yours to keep, a

wonderful gift bag and a gourmet buffet all evening. There is also top

quality rums, wonderful beer and other spirits. Tickets are $95 and can

be ordered by calling 1-800-610-MALT or ordered online at

Well, I have to tell you that the Rumfest in NY was worth the trip. And I enjoyed meeting a few of the usual suspects from this forum. Great to meet you and I look forward to seeing you all again somewhere along the rum trail.

Amen, Brother Ed! The Rum Fest was terrific. Congrats and thanks to everyone involved. Some great rums and I really enjoyed our chats there and at the Whisky Fest the next night. It's nice to know our tastes in rum are so similar. And for those who haven't had a chance to try them yet, I wholeheartedly recommend the Diplomatica from Venezuela, the Inner Circle line from Australia (particularly the 115 proof), and of course, the Rhum Barbancourt 8.

Cheers,

Jay
