Thanks to Ed for his informative piece on ministryofrum.com on Santa Teresa 1796 Ron Antiguo de Solera. It looks as though this rum is now being marketed across the US - I got a bottle from Beekman Liquors in New York, who told me it's been a huge success since they introduced it a month ago.

I find it has a rich aroma and subtle vanilla taste, with very smooth finish (although I'm not very good a writing tasting notes!!). I got it for $32, putting it in the Pampero price range, to which I think it compares well. I'd be interested what others think of it.....
