Steamed burger

According to a recent article in CI these may be superior to grilled.

Simple to do.  A few ingredients: 85% lean, soy sauce, onion powder, S&P and cheese.

Heresy?

Someone needs to take one for the team.

This type of steaming of burgers has an almost cult like following in northern NJ— google White Manna.

They’re like White Castle but 500x better.

They aren’t a grilled burger and don’t pretend to be. They’re excellent. They fill a niche and are great, just as a perfectly grilled burger is great.

 Definitely worth a try IMO.

I forget what state it was, but i watched a episode of MVF where they have a steamed burger stuffed with cheddar cheese called a juicy lucy. It looked pretty good for a steamed burger.

Ted's Steamed Cheeseburgers in Connecticut, season 2, episode 20. juicy lucy is in Minneapolis.

Ive had the steamed CT burger .

it was quite good.   as I recall it was cooked in a little individual drawer

it had cheese of course .  also cooked in the same drawer

melted cheese     and quite  a lot of it .

w top quality ground meat , SB's are tasty

massive amount of melted cheese doesn't hurt either
