tommy, hard to go wrong with BLT.

Or bacon, for that matter.

Congee with gomasio, sesame oil, peanuts. Sides of yu chiao (grease sticks), stir-fried dai gai choy, deep-fried tofu. mussels in chile sauce.

BLT.  2 days in a row.  (having to season a cast iron pan is a great excuse to make bacon all weekend).

coffee.

new york times.

Oh - I'm jealous.

Not so much about the BLT - which I had yesterday for lunch - but about the Sunday New York Times.

Hummmm. I wonder if I could get that delivered at home.

I don't understand why rappers have to hunch over while they stomp around the stage hollering.  It hurts my back to watch them. On the other hand, I've been thinking that perhaps I should start a rap group here at the Old Folks' Home.  Most of us already walk like that.

Early pre-breakfast breakfast: Bowl of McCann's porridge. Brown sugar, skim milk, one tablespoon heavy cream.

Breakfast: The Sunday ritual, and one I look forward to all week. Three pieces of bacon. One egg sunnyside up. Two pieces toast. Coffee. (In the summer when there are garden tomatoes, they would make an appreance.)

N.Y. Times. Jaymes: If I can get it delivered here, I'm sure the Times would be happy to deliver it to you in Austin.

I was engaged in active work-avoidance all day yesterday,so had to sit down and crank out a review to meet deadline (and just finished, so now I can spend time here)...

Normandy apple cider bread from Ken's (scroll down the page for description) and plugra butter

I've been eating this for breakfast on weekdays before I go to work. The bread isn't really sweet, but has a nice hint of apple. I like it beast with cold butter, sliced off the cube and just laid on the bread (we like to call this "the other white meat").

Maggie - Ah, you're a helpful lass to be sure.

Actually, that was a humerous reference to the old OTC boards and "pet peeves," I think it was.

Those obnoxious "get the Sunday NYT delivered at home" TV ads ("I read the magazine and she goes straight for Arts & Leisure") were as annoyingly ubiquitous here as anywhere.

I'm sure there are few places on the planet where one CANNOT get the Sunday NYT delivered at home. They have arrangements with local newspapers whereby they electronically transmit (I'm sure via the internet somehow)the entire NYT to the local paper, which then prints it out and delivers it.

Y'know, girlfriend, I was afraid of that the second I hit "add reply!

For non-elitist, I promise, reasons,we watch only (top estimate) twenty hours of T.V. a year. Missed those ads.

So: What did you eat for breakfast?

Well, Darlin', you've unmasked my secret. Too much time spent in breakfast buffet lines at European hotels, I guess...

I had one of MY favorite things for breakfast - braunsweiger sandwich. Bites of cheese & tomatoes.

Well, this weekend it was Cheerios, OJ and Peet's Jasmine Fancy tea!

FANCY!!! :raz:

No elaborate sunday meal this week, we slept too late and my hubby had to go into work :(

Typically we'll hit one of our local favorite restaurants or i'll make my world famous "mom's waffles" (http://www.foodporn.com/photos/oct2001/pag...es/DSCN0001.htm) but alas, not today.
