Almost the last of @Shelby’s bread, Jones sausage, and scrambled eggs with catsup. 

I'm so hungry for breakfast!  This looks so good.  And I am definitely in the catsup on the eggs camp :)

Jessica treated me to breakfast from a favorite bakery downtown yesterday:

I brought this one home and heated it in the CSO and slathered it with butter.

 

Kouign Amann:

Breakfast.

"Velveted" the chicken.

Stir fried onions, garlic, ginger, tossed the chicken back into the wok.

Added a couple of spoons of black pepper sauce, chicken broth, salt and white pepper.

Tossed in a few dried red chili peppers and topped with chopped green onion.

Served with steamed rice and spinach sauted with minced garlic.

If there is a food that I could eat myself to death with, it would be the kouign amann. If I could make them with any success I feel confident that I would be eating one instead of writing this reply.

Had one of the pumpkin spice muffins I found too sweet split in half and sandwiched some mild goat cheese in the middle. Perfect!

@blue_dolphin – I know!  They were enormous.  But the texture was spot on despite that. 

 

Enjoying the love for the Kouign Amann!  We had a member with that name for years and I had no idea it was a pastry for a very long time.  My first taste of one was in Paris!

I had a bigger one in Disney's (of course) France pavilion.  That is a larger than full size popsicle stick.  It was shared between seven people!

Polenta topped with fresh figs, gorgonzola dolce, walnuts and a drizzle of honey

At yesterday's farmers market, the gentleman I buy figs from gave me a basket of overripe figs, a mix of Celeste and Calimyrna.  Ate some right away.  A few didn't make it through the night.  These are the rest.

I was starving yesterday morning for some reason.  Found a sad...kind of freezer burnt sausage roll in the freezer so I had that with a hash brown.
