I’d love the recipe, if you would care to share.

No problem.

Just for the two of us so it went a little something like this;

1 cup SR flour

1tbspn Baking powder

1 cup milk

1 egg

large tbspn caster sugar

pinch of salt and a dash of vanilla.

I think you may have accidentally posted these pictures in the Breakfast thread, instead of the Dinner thread. Those dinners look great.

These look like great ways to greet the day.    I have no sweet tooth, so I add salt and butter to my oatmeal.    Having the option of burgers, all of the faces of bolognese, ribs for breakfast?  I'd set my alarm for these!

Had I the option I wouldn't set my alarm for anything.  However I'd gladly stay up late for an @Ann_T breakfast.

A glass of green glop for my breakfast today.  Or maybe I should channel Gwyneth Paltrow and call it Goop?

The Avocado and Cardamom Smoothie from A Modern Cook's Year seemed like a reasonable way to use up a too-ripe avocado.

I added some tofu to the mix to boost the protein.  Not bad, though I will be more diligent about my avocados in the future.  A lovely avocado should not come to this end.

I do have a Fried Chicken Liver Po'boy planned for a late lunch, does that help?  🙃

Was going to move it up to breakfast but the livers were still too frozen and in need of a buttermilk bath so I took pity on the poor avocado.

Escarole Salad with Crispy Pimentón Chickpeas and a Runny Egg from Melissa Clark's Dinner Changing the Game

I crisped the chickpeas in a skillet rather than in the oven and used a boiled egg instead of fried.

Also,  the recipe calls for 2 teaspoons of sherry vinegar to 5 tablespoons of oil.  That's not enough.  I used 2 T vinegar.

'I really like Melissa but her oil/vinegar ratios need adjustment for me as well.

@Duvel What is with the donuts?!  Times change!

These are Berliner. Typically they would contain plum or raspberry jam, but these were selected by the little one and were filled with vanilla custard (white ones) and the yellow one contained “Advocaat”. There are in season now for the Carnival and will disappear next Wednesday, and since I am all into seasonal food ...

The sprinkles fooled me. Thanks for the explanation. Of course we had the fried doughnuts for Fastnacht - oddly with a coin slipped inside one? Reminds me of the baby in the King Cake in NOLA
