Mrs. Calabash Cooks—A Love Story.

“Maggie Calabash and Derek Smith may have met online, but their love story really began in the kitchen.”

They are both in their mid 70s, met online, but neither had mentioned anything of their culinary background.  It’s a heartwarming story and it’s food related.

Here.

So many times I heard Jimmy Durante speak of her, and now I know where she's been all this time.

Actually all of us are too young to remember that.

I raised my kids right...both of 'em could quote/imitate Durante, or Groucho, and any number of my heroes from back in the day. Properly speaking I *am* a bit too young for that generation of entertainer, having been born in '63, but I know what I like. :)

I am perilously close to 60, but grew up spending a LOT of time with my grandparents.  Thus, I know more about 30's & 40's music and actors than I do about my own generation's.

H'mm. Maybe I can get by with saying I am perilously close to 60. If I do not specify which side.

As I recall, Garrison Keillor referred to being in his "extremely late 40's" all the way through his 50's and maybe his 60's.
