Dinner 2019

Last night:  Ottolenghi's eggplant with buttermilk sauce -- with the substitution of Momofuku ranch for the buttermilk sauce.  Followed by almost the last of Jose Andres' bouillabaisse.  OK bread, but not good bread.

Looks super.   Tell me about cotija cheese, please.   What other cheeses can you compare it with?    I think it isn't a "melting" cheese.

Comfort food, not involving bread...

Berkshire chop, boiled Brussels sprouts, six hour baked sweet potato.  It's taken much of a lifetime to learn how to prepare a sweet potato.

Sprouts initially dressed with Extra Vecchio Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale Di Modena D.O.P.  After enough methode rotuts switched to Momofuku ranch.  Pickled ramps are cheap.

Probably more "eat a bit all day" Can not sleep. So - Nước Chấm being stirred up. Brussels sprouts  in a water/soy/chicken powder simmering - to be joined with coconut milk, egg noodles and copious amounts of cilantro. Orange roughy and short grain rice defrosting on counter. Odd mix but it appeals to me and was in fridge The joys of only having to please yourself at the moment :) If there are ripe oranges, or even better kumquats  (waiting for daylight so I don't trip and fall)) I see an olive oil cake on deck.
