Oh, how I love yakitiori!  I came near embarrassment at a yakitori restaurant in Tokyo. My boss and I nearly fought over the asparagus.

Don't ask. Eat it.

Love my asparagus patch, and my hosta plants.

They come up way before your garden gives you any vegetables. Not only that they come early, they are delicious gourmet  treats.

Hosta, asparagus, with lemon shrimps. Everything on the plant are from my garden, except the shrimps.

Chickpea, rice, chicken thigh and . . . ?

And the potato?

Rice cooked in seafood stock with sausage, chicken thighs. Then topped with meatballs and chickpeas, drizzled with beaten egg and baked until egg gets a bit browned.

Potato is a simple potato omelet with onion and potatoes cooked in olive oil before mixing ...

Monday night, turkey burgers.  Not a huge fan of turkey burgers but I had some ground turkey to use up and was in a hurry.

Last night, sole meunière, which was more to my liking

You can EAT hostas? Tell me more. New house has oak trees, which call out for hosta beds.

Don't ask. Eat it.

I knew you'd work pizza in there somehow.

Beautiful, by the way.

Au contraire, Madame - that’s a coca ... 😉

And that’s todays pizza (olives, home cured bacon, mushrooms), same dough as the coca. Enjoyed with a Nikka highball ...

Our last dinner in Lisbon was at a hole-in-the-wall place favored by local hipsters and backpackers.  Food was beyond expectations.  The couscous was exceptional....oven roasted eggplant and tomatoes, almonds, fresh mango,, yogurt and arugula...very well balanced and flavorful.  Also shared an aged goat cheese baked and topped with caramelized red onions and what seemed to be a pound of toasted walnuts.  Best white sangria of all I tried here....5 EU for 1/2 a liter.  Cost of meal with wine and grilled bread was 23 EU.

Yes, hosta is a vegetable in many Asian countries, like in Japan. where it is known as giboshi.

From my garden. two months before my other vegetables.

Tuesday was steak with smashed baby potatoes; grilled green onions and a salad.  The ribeye was delicious...from our grass fed cattle farm up the lake.  Watched a Netflix documentary on Steak last night....very interesting if you have the time.

Last night was leftover chicken curry, cucumber and yogurt and the CSO vegetables from that thread.
