Real breakfast food for Mo for breakfast.....what's the world coming to? You have trained me to expect to see steak,  ribs or something more exotic!

But I'd still be happy to sit at your table for breakfast any time of day!

Got to change things up occasionally and give him real breakfast food.

The plan: duck egg perfectly scrambled with some aged Trader Joe’s raw cow’s milk blue cheese on toasted rye bread. (The cheese was part of a gift of some lovely cheeses from TJ’s).

The final product: a sort of omelet frantically forked apart so blue cheese crumbles could be intermingled.

The culprit: inattention caused by the  urgent need to Google Jacques Torres’ chocolate chip cookie recipe.  You know who you are @Kim Shook

In the end it was still quite delicious and I finished up the last of the Sugar Bomb tomatoes which were just starting to get wrinkly.

P.S.  had absolutely no intention of making chocolate chip cookies today or even in the near future.

You mean these?

Yes those. But I’m still not making them! I don’t care how good they are. 😂

Moe loves his breakfast. I don't even care if I have breakfast. Unless of course it is something sweet like a scone or danish. Or dinner.

Since I wasn't working today I decided to make a big breakfast before we headed to our workshop.

I had planned to grill Moe a steak last night but plans changed so I grilled it for him this morning

and he had poached eggs on toasted English Muffins with homemade Hollandaise and

I made myself Eggs Benedict. Fried potatoes on the side.

We like our eggs cooked differently. Soft and runny for him and on the hard side for me.

I took a stab at the Caramelized Cream Eggs from Ideas in Food that popped up here on Food52 a while back.

I may have used too much cream (~ 3T) and definitely should crank the heat up a bit more (I got a little caramelization on the bottom but not as much as pictured on Ideas in Food.

Errors aside, I was able to turn it out onto a plate and the result was still a satisfactory  breakfast

Me too but it didn’t ring any bells or cause the earth to move. I think there are tastier things to cook eggs in like duck fat or bacon fat or goose fat or even ghee. YMMV.

Edited to add: It still looks like a tasty breakfast!

Thinking ahead for next week, and my need for gravy to serve with our traditional Christmas Eve Tourtiere, I roasted a small pork roast this morning.

Moe had an open faced hot pork sandwich for breakfast and I have leftover gravy for our tourtiere, that I'll freeze for next week.

Lunch leftovers with a farm fresh fried egg.

The leftovers were reheated in the CSO (Cuisinart steam oven) 325°F steam/bake for 10 minutes.

Brunch.

Eggplant, leek and goat cheese frittata; with mint and parsley, basil and garlic.

Salad of cucumbers, onion, raddish, spring onion. With rye bread croutons, sunflower seeds. Strained buttermilk dressing with garlic, dill, sunflower oil.

Made Moe is favourite pancakes for breakfast this morning.

He prefers them thin not thick. And swimming in pure Maple Syrup.

Moe is smart. Fat pancakes are an abomination

I have home made whole wheat, marinated beets, and liverwurst - close enough - hello breakfast soon :)
