Chawanmushi (Japanese steamed savoury custard) with far too many inclusions! But it provided me much  fodder for my newly launched kitchen notebook.

You know, @Anna N, it’s a courtesy to warn other members before posting hard core food porn. Especially when those members are slightly jet lagged and even more slightly hung over and would kill  for a perfect poached egg right now ...

After carefully preparing a dinner of local corn (picked while I waited), powerful  garlic bread and Love Salads, last night, this meal was never 'consummated' , but rather, packed up and put away, just after being photographed, as we had to respond to Deb's daughter's car failure with emergency relief and a loaner car.

After bringing Deb to work this morning, I made a stoic  effort to recover, and it wasn't half bad.

Here's breakfast:

Here's the dinner that never was:

As they say in so many sports, 'It's the recovery that counts.' I was pretty happy with mine!

This morning, just a bacon sandwich and an industrial strength black coffee.

...

I'd say that looks like industrial strength bacon, too xD!

I had a Vietnamese Coffee popsicle, made from David Lebovitz's recipe, which calls for coffee that's "chest hair-raisingly strong" - not sure how that compares with industrial strength but I can attest that they are seriously caffeinated.

Don't feel bad - mine NEVER look as good as the ones here :)  Even your's looks better than mine!  LOL  I cook once and reheat all week.  If I didn't it would be fast food every day.

One for me, please!  That bacon looks out of this world.  I'm sad I probably can't get it in the states

Mushrooms are an approximation of @Blether‘s technique here, soy sauce egg and simply salted tomatoes.
