may I ask what sort of pan you are using for the

Shrimp Orzo with Tomato and Basil

or maybe its the SIL's?

I can not quite place it

cheers

SIL’s Pan. Cuisinart. I believe it is a 3 1/2 quart Classic Stainless Sauté Pan. She also has the cover.

Moulard duck breast with red currant gravy and, because I could, I served it with torn, seasoned croutons.

Hsiao-Ching Chou's dry-fried green beans from Chinese Soul Food (p147).  Wonderful, just wonderful.  Rice not shown.  Green beans not shown either.

Followed by what a friend has christened Jogurt (TM) and walnuts.

Mmmmm.  Love dry-fried green beans.  Time for a visit to one of our Asian groceries to restock my Asian pantry.

Matzocube soup.

Casserole of matzo, layered lasagna-style, filled with chickpeas, lentils, mushrooms. Flavored with bahart. The matzo were soaked in milk and eggs, the top one brushed with oil and crisped.

The last two nights have been with extended family for Passover.  My contribution to the meal  was black-eyed peas and homemade gefilte fish. Pic  of fish dish before garnish.  Served with a horseradish and beet purée

Pickled beetroot, cheesy pasta. Loosely based on the original mac and cheese known as "Älplermagronen" (Alpine herder's macaroni with cheese) in Alpine countries.

Lamb shank.

Dear German food, it's not you, it's them. Now go and live your damn best life. Well, go on!

^^ This is a super thick piece of calf's liver, btw. And home-made potato dumplings ("Schupfnudeln").

Any chance on getting the recipe for your potato dumplings?  They look great and I think my kids might just love them!

I have made these dumplings so many times I don't measure anything any more. Check out this recipe with step-by-step photos and give it a go. Though, I must mention you need to work the dough fast and not too long or it'll get very sticky. Shock them in cold water right after boiling. So good fried in butter until golden brown.

My dinner tonite was lentils and rice in the IP lentils are still a lil crunchy :/ Grilled pork chops and brussel sprouts , apologies ;)

Dinner was grilled lamb, asparagus Hollandaise, baguette.  Each individually OK.  Not a satisfying whole.  Not sure why.  Last night's dry fried green beans blew me away.  Maybe I am spoiled?  Fortunately fifteen year old rum covers a multitude of sins.

We we always make matzah lasagna with the last box near the end of Passover.   This year my wife shopped late and the only box of matzah available was gluten free.  I took one taste and thought  the box would taste better.  Went straight in the garbage

Had picked up a boneless lamb shoulder bundle and got to cook it for Easter dinner for two. Decided to not roast it. Cut the chunk into large pieces, and did a cumin stir-fry.
Eaten with a piece of roti and roasted cauliflower.
Plenty left over, so two portions were shared with friends who are sole lamb eaters in their families. Still had enough for another meal last night for us.

It's a nice change up from the usual roast, or grilled, or coconut curry. Rice would have been lovely, especially the slightly sticky short grain we had been eating on our Asia trip. However...trying to reduce carbs yet again!
