I purchased the 30 book bundle....tried to access the download site with my 11 year old iPad, seems there's an issue in doing so. Possibly outdated browser? I've been wanting a new iPad anyway, this may force it.

 

And for those of you that like the history of restaurants, old inn cooking etc I highly recommend a download of this book:

Google Books uses the EPUB format. (So does the Kobo e-reader sold in Canada, which I think also reads PDF files directly.) Kindle can read PDF but you have to send the books to your Kindle's email id. It's not hard to do but it will take a few steps:

It's a great program, isn't it? Nice way to manage e-books. 

 

And these Humble bundle books are said to be DRM-free (Digital Rights Management), which means that Calibre could easily convert between the different formats.  🙂

The Kindle version of Olia Hercules' book, Mamushka: Recipes from Ukraine and Eastern Europe (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) is currently $2.99 on Amazon in the US.  Sadly, not in Canada.  I actually wanted to purchase a hard copy from a local bookshop in order to support the author, but everyone is sold out. 

 

The Kindle version of Evan Funke's American Sfoglino: A Master Class in Handmade Pasta (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) is also $2.99 in the US and in Canada.  I have the hard copy of this book.  The guy is dogmatic about making the pasta by hand with specific ingredients but the recipes I've tried really show off the pasta to its best. 

 

The Kindle version of Crescent Dragonwagon's classic bean cookbook Bean by Bean: A Cookbook: More than 175 Recipes for Fresh Beans, Dried Beans, Cool Beans, Hot Beans, Savory Beans, Even Sweet Beans! (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) is $1.99 on Amazon in the US and in Canada

 

The Kindle version of @rancho_gordo's Heirloom Beans: Recipes from Rancho Gordo (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) is $2.99 in the US and in Canada.  Some favorite recipes that I make over and over in this one.

Yeah, pretty hard to pass up this kind of offer when there are several interesting books included, right?  There are a few there that I am pleased to now have in my e-library.

I just bought Kindle version of The Herbfarm Cookbook (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) by Jerry Traunfeld for $1.99. 
Lots of recipes organized by type of dish followed by sections on growing and buying herbs and about individual herbs. There are beautiful illustrations of the herbs but in this kindle version they are all oddly placed at the end.

Note that most of these ‘crazy' deals are offered for a limited time. Some for a month, some only a day or so and a few for longer. I don’t believe any of those 3 are still at the prices mentioned 4+ years ago.

Deals on this thread almost never last longer than a month... and some disappear right quickly.  I'm feeling guilty because AMZ presented me with Julia Child Vol2 for $1.99 over the weekend and I bought it, but didn't post here.  Today it's back up to $20.

@cdhgot me hooked on Humble Book Bundles.  🙂

 

I just bought a new one, called Grilling & Gardening 2022. It includes 32 books of which 15 are about gardening, 14 are about grilling/smoking/BBQ and then there a few cocktail books as well. You can pay as little as $23.17 Canadian (approx $18 US) for all of the books. 

 

If you do buy, note that I had a problem downloading the ePub version of Mastering the Art of Flower Gardening. I was doing a bulk download and it stalled when it got to that book. So I had to choose the PDF version and then restart the download of the remaining books. It wasn't a huge hassle, but I did let them know and hope they correct it for others. 

 

For the price, I will be perfectly happy browsing these.

The Kindle version of Sweet Paris: Seasonal Recipes from an American Baker in France (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) by Frank Adrian Barron is currently $1.99.  I received a hard copy of the book recently as a birthday gift.  Recipes are organized by season and, as befits a book by someone who's apparently well known from his Instagram account (@cakeboyparis), it's very prettily photographed. 

 

Same price for the Kindle version of One Tin Bakes: Sweet and simple traybakes, pies, bars and buns (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) by another baking boy, Edd Kimber.

 

The Kindle version of Julia Turshen's Small Victories: Recipes, Advice + Hundreds of Ideas for Home Cooking Triumphs  (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) is $2.99.  I wasn't particularly excited when this book was chosen for a cookbook group I participate in but it's got a lot of great, simple recipes and stuff better described as "ideas" than "recipes.  I go back to it regularly.

 

The Kindle version of Richard Olney's Simple French Food (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) is $1.99
