Toliver's links led me to Opa! The Healthy Greek Cookbook: Modern Mediterranean Recipes for Living the Good Life.  I love Greek food.  I do not need another cookbook of any stripe, except the Modernist Bread.  OTOH for $1.99 (my Amazon Prime price, at least) it's so easy to collect books.  You suppose Amazon has found a nice price point for quick sales?

Yes, I think they are devious and know exactly what they are doing. It's called "Nickle-and-Dime-ing me to death". :D

Plus, they keep showing me Emeril's "Delmonico" but the price keeps going up instead of coming down...they taunt me! >:( xD

And in the meantime, they also keep showing me every Paleo, vegan, vegetarian, or the word "healthy" in the title, cookbooks that I have absolutely no interest in. You'd think by looking at my web viewing of their cookbooks, they could have figured this out by now.

Or maybe they're just optimists and think I will cave under the pressure of all these titles they're sending my way. Think again, Amazon! :B

Oops...you're Canadian.

Sometimes that makes for a different price than the US version of Amazon. Not in this case (price is the same) but it has made a difference in the past with some titles.

From the Brooklyn eatery, "Roberta's Cookbook" Kindle Edition $1.99US
It's pizza-centric, though the index doesn't indicate what the recipes are.

From the London bakery, "The Violet Bakery Cookbook" Kindle Edition $2.99US

I am a US Prime member and the price you see may vary.

Chiming in to help enable: the spelt-dried cherry scones in the Violet Bakery Cookbook are amazing. The recipe makes a boatload, but the dough freezes well. You're welcome.

I do have it but I appreciate you posting these things  – – I think. I don’t need any more enabling after becoming the proud owner of Modernist Bread!  Every day I open it I need a new ingredient/piece of equipment/.......

Adventures of Fat Rice is 2.99 on US kindle.  I am very excited to learn about Macau cuisine.

Thanks!  After I picked up Fat Rice, I saw that Andrea Nguyen's The Banh Mi Handbook is $1.99 on US Kindle so I got that one, too.

(US Prime member.....and all that)

Edited to add:  I went over to amazon.ca to check.  Sadly, that deal isn't available over there.  :(

Got it.  Wasn't Prime* the book with problems?

* not to be confused with amazon prime.

Was ti me.  It had you cooking a thin steak for so long it would turn into shoe leather.   Kind of put me off the second version dealing with pork.  Shame really because it’s possible rest of the book is fine.
