The mocha joe-joes are  back in stock at my local TJs.

I ate two, and gave the box away.

They're good, and I can see why people like them.  Not enough chocolate in the cookie to balance the very strong (and good) coffee in the filling.

so far, the only joe-joes I actually like are the peppermint Christmas ones.

I went to TJ's specifically for the Coffee Ice Cream bars

Bad news :  they are ' seasonal ' and gone for now

however  the will be coming back in Sept and be permanent.

so I got these :

the pic is rotated so that's why they loo like they are going to fall on the floor.

the mini-mint's are quite good and a permanent item

MJJ's new to me.

We picked up some chili lime burgers last Friday as we always do when we are fortunate enough to shop at Trader Joe's.  New to us was some mango jicama slaw that we topped our burgers with.  The slaw was really good on the burgs and we are having the rest of it tonight as a side with some spicy chicken. We also opened a package of almond thins cookies and they are really good also.  We also bought and have tried the mango black tea and are almost halfway through the first of 4 loaves of cinnamon roll bread.  And oh yes, Zeus is happy with his tuna cat food.  He loves the stuff and gave a can to Chanel,  his neighbour next door.

Thank you for a very nice meal I had tonight.  I would never have thought to pick up those Chicken chili lime burgers or the mango jicama slaw... had it on Brioche buns I bought from Aldi ....bought some TJ's corn and chili salsa

Also bought some TJ's English Butter Fudge...It's a very small white and blue box and easy to miss.  It .was a very nice pick me up with a cup of coffee

Alas, my TJ's didn't have the mocha Joe-Joe's earlier in the week...although they did have the mango ones in stock. I abstained.

I picked up a box of the chicken chili lime burgers, thinking that we'd have them for a quick late dinner last night. We got home from listening to friends play a brass band concert at about 8:30, and I pulled the box of burgers out of the freezer. Unfortunately, the first instruction said "Thaw in refrigerator for 2–3 hours." Oops! Instead, we ate a couple of quinoa black bean corn cowboy veggie burgers (or something like that) that very clearly stated "COOK FROM FROZEN" on the box. We cooked them in the Breville. The outside got nice and crispy although the insides were a bit mushy. The flavor was good, though. We ate them on normal cheap burger buns with a splash of salsa.

I have a weakness to try two things :

Salad Dressing

and

BBQ sauce

Ive not gotten BBQ sauce for some time

as I make my own

[ thank you Aaron Franklin ]

but I had a moment of weakness

and on the end cap was this :

it quite nice for my tastes.

it quite tart  as i think vinaigrette  tends to be in the Amareicas

not so much in Europe where there is more oil etc

True Confessions :

The last time I visited my family in San Diego we had a pot luck. My sister-in-law brought an antipasto salad that was topped with little cubes of TJ's "Unexpected Cheddar" (click).

It was very good. Just like in the description in the link above, it starts out tasting like a normal creamy cheddar but at the end there's a slight tang to it.

Two thumbs up!

Had these tonight.  "A Korean inspired Kalbi BBQ recipe" spicy chicken sausages.  The words in quotation marks are on the front of the package which you can't see because of the crappy picture.  I did not care for these as i found the emphasis was on heat at the expense of flavour.  My husband, who loves spicy food did like them.

Got this and let's say that I am not going to buy it again! I like the crunch but not the after taste. Too sweet, make it very flat, missing salt and also the cranberries are just sweet.

spotted this :

I had high hopes , as one of my favorite dishes is Salted and Spiced Calamari , in Chinatown

note the tentacles !

what's in the box :

Cali2.thumb.jpg.be3bc660e71408b7cbb91232a61f7133.jpg

ready for Steam-bake in the CSB :

done :

N.B.:  No Tentacles !

however they steam-baked nicely w a good crunch

not the same as Chinatown   ( panko   , etc )_

but quite good.

a keeper for me

which suggests  " seasonal item "

Ill have to ask.

That TJ's calamari has been around in my TJ's at least since last Nov when I mentioned them here.

I hope it will continue even though I find it rather dangerous to keep on hand as it's ready to eat in 10 min or less!

suprise.gif.c82dac54b8c6105440285166f30ca250.gif

did they ship all the tentacles to CA where they would be appreciated ?

I noted one on your plate

I have to go to Chinatown to get them

indeed there is a fairly good take out near me

their  Salt and Spice calamari is decent

and they will add tentacles if you ask

they sent some take - out w them a few times when they first opened

and got a lot of complaints

Its New England for sure

now they will make me just the tentacles !

with big smiles on their faces 1

This will seem rather boring, but I just love TJ's rice cakes. I remember rice cakes from the late seventies/early eighties, and I remember them being absolutely awful. They had the texture of styrofoam and no taste to speak of. I never understood why anyone ate them. Let us skip a number of years. I was in TJ's a couple of months ago and happened to see their rice cakes and on a whim I bought them. And I love them! They are crispy (no more styrofoam) and a little salty and they're great with some TJ's cottage cheese. (Or with PB & J.)

This sounds intriguing! Let us know how it tastes, how you used it, etc.

Thanks for taking one for the team! xD

I meant to report back on this sooner. I used it in on a tomato/cucumber salad with a little sesame oil. Very tasty!!! I would say a very slight taste of soy sauce, but not nearly as salty and much yummier! I will definitely be picking more up when I go. Just in case!

I can't find who originally posted about it, but I had also picked up one of the Cauliflower Pizza Crusts a while ago. I finally found a use tonight. By no means an authentic Indian meal, but I was using up leftovers and an emergency Butter Chicken packaged dinner. I nearly always have one of the packages of TJ's frozen Naan in my freezer, but I did not. YIKES! I spotted the cauliflower crust. Baked it as instructed, then put on melted butter, sprinkled with an Indian spice blend and sprinkled over some feta. Ran under the broiler for a few minutes. We both loved it. Much more so than the stupid mix with leftover chicken. LOL!

Not a product, per se, but this advertisement on the radio has been catching my ear for the past week:

"...brought to you in part by Trader Joe's, ...bringing you brioche, ciabatta, naan and other things that aren't bread."

I heard a rumor that the green flavor you like so well is really derived from green bells!;)

I doubt that, really. It's a good joke on our most vehement green bell pepper hater, but it is the season for fresh Hatches. I have some in the crisper. I also have a couple cans of T.J.'s "New Mexico Hatch Valley Fire Roasted Diced Green Chile". I like both green bells and Hatch. I am also pretty sure T.J.'s doesn't lie as frequently as some other purveyors.

I have added a can of T.J.'s Hatch peppers to homemade mac and cheese and am delighted to see them offering this frozen.

Tj's has this cheese :

stilltyd-600x600.jpg.3a4962968d2ec202aaab67e82f45cd3b.jpg

its a very nicely flavored cheddar-ish cheese that melts nicely in the Micro.

Ive used it on CheeseBuyrgers.

Its their featured cheese for August.

that seems to mean they bought all they could and when it runs out its gone.

In my area they have 12 pieces left and it ' expires ' on Sept 2

so they pan to pull it tonight,

this was news to me just now as i called them about the name which I forgot.

so they are holding 6 for me and I plan to vacuum-seal them  and freeze them for future CB's

if you are in the West and read this before your Trip to TJ's

try one or two if they have any in your area.
