@CentralMA Nice find on the Krunkake iron and love your encouraging the young baker. At least where I am (Los Angeles) going out to browse is not routine yet. Caution is in the air, which I respect.

Scored a “vintage” Bamix, circa 1986 (according to the date in the “Bamix Revised Instructions and Old and New Recipes” book)DA592DCA-00A7-446B-951E-EACA5E247878.thumb.jpeg.0557fbc7a66413ae36119e0215c07f0c.jpeg, for $5 US today. Looks like it was very lightly used, and well taken care of.

Good find 😀

On another note, I notice you have a "chain mail" scrubber hanging up - how do you like it?

Love it! I use it on our cast iron, carbon steel and stainless steel pans (interior only). The best part is it’s super easy to clean and should, knock wood, never need replacing!

Two other items from the same yard sale.

Seems like a good quality  round bottom wok, with a good  quality stovetop ring.

And an older bottle capper, with NOS caps in the original box.

Pic of the wok is getting it boiled out, clean and sanitary. Handle has a maker mark on it, "SOSF. CALIF"?

Means South San Francisco, a town in California near the SF airport.

That makes sense. There's more to the embossing, but it was blazing hot on the stovetop when I was trying to read it.

Your wok looks like it may have come from SF iconic Wok Shop .     Well done.   If you feel like researching it, the engaged proprietors might be willing to discuss it with you.

Well you made me get up off my butt and go down to the basement (where most pots and pans reside) to get more info

Looks like the mark shows "ATLAS METAL SPINNING CO SOSF CALIF" with a large stylized A in the center. No other logos I can see.

Very pleased with this find. After the water boil I brought it down to the basement sink and attacked it with Barkeeper's. Pulled off the residue, got it to a nice surface. Then hit it with peanut oil on the flame to protect the steel. Hope to use it this week, get some more seasoning into it.IMG_20210904_213959738.thumb.jpg.47449bd94d0846bff4e62ec2bfb31e7a.jpg16308065230953714174228114411615.thumb.jpg.7208b234444d420524163a772267a05a.jpg16308065477002934929230122484924.thumb.jpg.db81f395874d57a45050a4b9e3fbafc8.jpg

I have two round ones. Love them. One almost alway in the dishwasher. I've had them about 5 years now. I have square one but it is a bit small. Size maters, 😜

Good score on the Bamix.
