I'm all for technology, but there are some publications that I want to hold in my hand and maintain in a collection, so I was sad to get this email yesterday

Dear Subscriber,

The Art of Eating is now digital! After almost 30 years, and now that we have subscribers in 65 countries, we’ve made the leap. The articles are still in-depth, and there is still no advertising. But we no longer offer a print edition. We offer the digital magazine as a PDF, laid out exactly as the print edition, and in a responsive form for multiple devices, so you can take it with you wherever you go. Behind the paywall, we will add definitive articles previously available only in print and other top-quality information, such as an encyclopedia of essential cheeses.

The new site has launched and the new issue is available! The lead article is The Flavor of Coffee in the New Millennium, and there are articles on Bhopali Cuisine, The Wines of Etna, and Two Yucatán Sausages. Plus Rajat Parr reviews Le Clos Vieilles Vignes, Fleurie (Beaujolais) from Domaine de la Grand’Cour (Dutraive); Kareh Moraba writes about Lunch at Tehran's Grand Baz aar; Susannah Horowitz offers Six Addresses in Istanbul; and there are our discriminating book reviews.
