Is salt made from ocean water safe to eat? We are making salt from ocean water collected off the charleston sc, coast and was wondering if it is safe to use

I'd say generally it is. Look up Hawaiian Salt on the internet and you'll find a half dozen companies selling sea salt made in the traditional ways. On an industrial scale, the SF bay area has some very colorful salt ponds:

Salt is made from occean water. It is really safe because there are many process to filter it and salt companies are doing it effectively. So there is nothing to worry.

Salt does not are available in water that is not saturated only the ions are available in solution. Steaming changes the amount at which water is eliminated...and it is properly check by the companies and also filter by the plant then delver in the market...do not worry about the salt issue..
