Favorite desserts with Kahlua?

Hi All --

I bought a bottle of Kahlua for a bundt cake recipe that under-delivered, and now I'm in need of suggestions for desserts / baked goods to help me use up the rest of the bottle! Any favorite recipes to recommend?

Thanks!

Emily

Pour it over flan. Pour it over ice cream. Pour it into a cup of hot decaf coffee. Pour it over 'rocks' and then into you.

Really, the uses for Kahlua are endless.

I don't understand why rappers have to hunch over while they stomp around the stage hollering.  It hurts my back to watch them. On the other hand, I've been thinking that perhaps I should start a rap group here at the Old Folks' Home.  Most of us already walk like that.

Kahlua Panna Cotta - I've never made it, but I've thought about it. Here's a pretty version with a coffee gelée layer, but there are several other versions around if you search. This one uses 1/4 cup of Kahlua. (Scroll down past the Rosewater Panna Cotta, though it looks lovely, also!)

HI Emily,

You can use it to brush the ladyfingers in this cake - it's a fantastic cake:

Some obvious suggestions: Add it to brownies, chocolate mousse, flourless chocolate cake, chocolate sauce, chocolate truffles, chocolate cheesecake...

There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with CHOCOLATE.

Here's a link to some drinks made with Kahlua: http://www.kahluadrinks.com/

White Russians, Black Russians, and Kahlua Kiss are favorites.

And here's a link to a recipe I've made many, many times: Blender Chocolate Mousse. You do add some booze. I've often used Kalhua. http://forums.egullet.org/topic/141945-desperation-desserts/page-2

You know, in my opinion anyway, Kahlua is so versatile and tasty that it's something I'm never without.

Several cups of Kahlua and coffee saved my life one morning many years ago...

Blender Mousse

6 oz. 70%-ish chocolate, in pieces or chips (a lower % would do in a pinch)

2 large eggs

2 T strong coffee or espresso, cooled a bit

1 t vanilla extract

2-3 T Kahlua (start w/2; increase for the next batch if you like)

6 oz heavy cream at 190°F, give or take

Dump all the ingredients into a blender, cream last. Quickly put the top on and blend at high speed for 2 minutes. Pour into ramekins or whatever you're using, cover with plastic wrap, and chill for at least six hours; twelve or more is best.
