Random thought that occurred to me last night as I was dozing off... There really ought to be a cocktail called the Metaphor.

"Gotta hand it to ol' Jimbo, he really knows how to mix a Metaphor..." :P

Edited to add the afterthought.... "...and WTH would go into one?"

Oh ya! Dad's wife proclaimed yesterday that she had to throw a pan out as it was no good anymore. It is perfectly fine - she just can't cook.  I do omelettes in it - no sticking. She has my dad scrub it so hard any seasoning is gone. So she will be buying a new one...

Our son had an early girlfriend who watched me like a hawk and tried her best to pick up my methods.    He was devastated to see what she had done to a teflon pan.    She told him that she had seen me clean one with the same kind of scrunched wire.    And she had.   What she didn't catch was that I barely touched the surface of the pan, just kicked out a few crusty pieces.

It takes us a long time to discern the "hows" from the "whats".

My property manager friend reports that her dry cleaner/alterations tenants (she has 2 in different parts of the city) are making ends meet by selling interesting well made masks and people leave their clothes by the door so  they can "adjust the seams. They pay over the phone via credit card.

Everyone else on the planet has probably already seen this but I finally noticed it in an image from a grocery from the South:  Stressed spelled backwards = desserts

I know it's a sales pitch, but I had to laugh at advice from Falk on how to deal with the current situation:  "Put Hollandaise sauce on everything you eat!"

I know what they meant, but I think this is very funny advice on how to keep my yogurt fresh.
