I guess since I have spent almost my entire life mostly with boys and men (is there a difference) that seems so so minor. Burning the  basketball on the Weber just oh well - kinda stinks but at least out doors. Set the neighbors tree on fire with Chinatown fireworks - at least you put it out right away.

Before the health department had reason to start coming into my Northern ren faire kitchen I was fond of cutting off the long tail of a beet and sticking it just under the stove with the "rat tail" sticking out.

As you probably know, Amazon recommends books based on one's purchase and browsing history. Their algorithm either has a sense of humor or could stand a bit of fine tuning.

LOL A couple of days ago I saw a meme on a friend's timeline that had the cover image of the Very Hungry Caterpillar, but said something along the lines of "The caterpillar wasn't really hungry. He was just bored, and ate to have something to do while he was quarantined."

I'd intended to share it here, but couldn't find it again.

I love the Very Hungry Caterpillar. My grandson used to dramatize the story, which he knew by heart, with caterpillars, a chrysalis and a butterfly made of play-doh.

A woman here where I live lost her teacup terrier to a gull this past summer. The pup rushed the bird in a territorial frenzy, as they do, and the gull nonchalantly snapped him up in its bill and flew away, to the horror of the dog's watching owner.

i remember my niece's shock (she was maybe 4) when 5  of us sat at the beach feet from the water eating lunch and a gull snatched her bag of Fritos away.  They are tough birds. I do love their red bill spots to give the kids a clue where to beg food  https://www.audubon.org/news/why-do-gulls-have-red-spot-their-bills
