Recommended Posts

Haven't weighed in here yet, and was doing some reorganizing today and did a count:

85 for me right now --- but that could change in the near future.

husband will not be amused.

:jealous:

Just remind him how much it would have cost had you bought all the books they have taken recipes from. :raz:

Dude...Ebay. There are some complete sets for sale as we speak. Get ye there and start bidding.

I'm missing 5 books:

Crackers and Cookies

Fish

Shellfish

I saw a couple of the Desserts books today, but right now I'm really hot to get Fish and Shellfish. If you see them, definitely let me know.

Fast Food My Way by Jacques Pepin - $25 Canadian at Cosco! They also had both Thomas Keller books on for just less than $40 Canadian - I resisted with effort!

75,267. Good grief, that is a poopload of cookbooks.

Actually, 75,268. I sent Jacques Pepin's "Celebrations" to an eGull who hasn't found time to post it here.

And I'm starting to feel like the shoemaker's wife! Time for me to hit Amazon and rustle me up some inspiration.

Nya, nya, I've got Preserving and you don't. :raz::laugh:

Thanks, but I'll pass on eBay. (I'm a coward.) I'll just keep checking at my favorite used book stores.

Due to the generosity of many e-Gulleters, and the Friends of the Library store, my count has zoomed to 35, one of which is a Christmas gift for my boss. I can't quote the title exactly, but it's a collection of recipes from Commanders Palace in NO. And, as it has been said, it's not even Christmas yet! :raz:

Jumping in here very late on this thread.

Total count right now is 24.

On order:

Cotton Country Collection by the ladies of Monroe LA

Great recommendation for this from Mayhaw Man and I ordered it for the turkey roasting method he was describing, among other good foods. It will, of course, arrive the day after Thanksgiving.

Oooops! This one actually arrived ahead of schedule, the day before Thanksgiving and forgot to post it. So you can add this one now.

Though I don't have room for all my books, I continue to add new ones. The latest are by 3 chef/authors we hosted for Cooks and Books Dinners; Andrea Immer's newest about matching wine with foods, Michael Lomonaco's Nightly Specials and Joyce Goldstein's Italian Slow and Savory. All are keepers.
