Plan: 2014 Chocolate & Confectionery Workshop Las Vegas

Chocolot

Recommended Posts

eGullet Chocolate & Confections Workshop

Las Vegas, NV

SPONSORS

Albert Uster Imports, Bakers C&C, Chef Rubber, Chocolat Chocolat, Barry Callebaut, Chocotransfersheets.com, Fresh Origins, Guittard, Muir Copper Canyon Farms, Swiss Chalet (Felchin), Thermoworks, Tomric, Trufflymade.com

<snip>

I have been emailing with Michael Muir, VP Sales & Marketing at Muir Copper Canyon Farms (listed above as a sponsor). He had no clue what I was talking about when I mentioned the workshop. He said ". If we were to sponsor an event like this it would be under Muir Gourmet, not Muir Copper Canyon Farms.

I run all of our sponsoring/marketing efforts. I have not authorized a sponsorship of anything in Las Vegas."

Any idea what's up with that?

Perhaps it would be more accurate to state that they are providing Mec3 samples for us, rather than sponsoring. I hope we aren't getting anyone in trouble. And I guess we should change the wording to Muir Gourmet.

No worries, Ruth.

Michael just wrote "I found out that indeed we are [donating]. I have been traveling and was not told about it. We are helping our good friends at Chocolat. :0) ... Yes, it should be changed to Muir Gourmet."

More stuff came today from Thermoworks, Mec 3 and more from Callebaut! I;m going to need a trailer!

Rob needs a final head count for dinner on Friday night. Please let him know if you are coming to dinner and if you will have a guest.

Friday Night Dinner at Honey Salt - need firm commits. If you aren't sure, then say no and whether you can attend will be dependent on the restaurant finding space for you. If you say yes, plan on paying whether you show or not because we're on a contract not a per person. Remember, drinks are on your own. if you haven't let Rob know on FB, please post here.

One small schedule change. The Meet N Greet scheduled for Friday at 10pm has wisely been changed to Saturday at 8:30 pm.  If you are having a late dinner, don't worry--it will still be going on for a few hours. Location will be announced as soon as we know, which will be after we arrive.

I think Dave Hardy and Erika were also signed up for the Thursday dinner at Lotus of Siam.  Anyone else, please respond by this Thursday (1 May) and we'll see if we can get a reservation for such a large group. So far, the count is for fourteen.

On another note, we're trying to firm up a reservation for Raku Sweets which does a dessert tasting menu for Sunday around 7:30.  If you're interested speak now...

Still "on the fence" for this one.  Awaiting feedback from my plus one and will get back to you ASAP if "yes".
