i have not used the 10 C in a while , several years

 

but the times I made persian style . it worked very well .

 

it wasn't that easy to lift out the bowl , and invert etc

 

and the bowl + steam were hot .

 

for that reason I rarely make it .

 

the bowl has a non stick , as was working well the last time I sued it for 

 

rice.

 

maybe rice w a crusty bottom is abomination in Japan.

 

Rice is treated in a unique manner in Japan.

As @palo said, I eyeballed the markings on the little cup.  As much as I revere exactitude, when it comes to rice in the Zojirushi I could measure by handsful and I'm sure get good results.

My older NP-NVC18 has a scorch setting that is said to make a crispy bottom.  The option is removed in the NW-JEC10BA.

 

For Persian rice it might be better to find a Persian rice cooker or a Persian grandmother.

I think the "micom" or "fuzzy logic" that Zojirushi employs actually is a piece of artificial intelligence living in your rice cooker that determines "what you did, but don't worry we'll fix it for you" so that your rice comes out well all the time - all the measuring and adjusting we do just makes it easier for the AI

Well, that sure could be as I've never had a pot of rice that didn't come out perfectly in all the years, I've owned one.

Im doing GABA Basmati Brown  ( TJ' rice )

 

as my first 3C induction test run

 

Ill report later   3 hrs or more , but nothing for me to do !

 

my question on the Zo's :  

 

can you ' set ' the clock / timer to show you

 

a count-down to done ?

 

granted , it would be fuzzy , and change a bit during a cycle

 

or is that not possible.     3 + hours cooks :  it be nice to see time left

 

even if its Fuzzy .

On both my Zojirushi rice cookers count-down mode is how the timers work by default.  Strange that yours does not.  You are correct the time estimates change a bit during the cycle.

As mentioned previously the non user replaceable battery of my older Zojirushi passed on long ago.  The device has lost all concept of sidereal motion.  Yet when I press the start button, the display still faithfully counts down and when done it plays a cheerful tune.
