Bastille Day Dinner

eternal

Recommended Posts

Anybody making anything to celebrate Bastille Day tomorrow? We're going to have a little gathering at the house and planned on making Steak au poivre, frites, fish in caper sauce, some sort of gratin (fennel?) and drink too much french wine.

Being a chef de partie at Bouchon yountville, we threw on hell of a bastille day celebration, shut off the parking lot and did a ton of different preperations for our guests. the bakery did tons of goods, from fresh baked breads of all types to atleast 10 different types of pot de creme, tarte au citron, offered an arrey of formages, Gigot d'Agneau (whole roasted lamb). speaking of, we roasted 2 whole hogs and a lamb, tons of housemade charcuterie. it was a blast, i recomend if anyone is in the area for Bastille day next year, come check it out. As a cook, i had a blast helping with planing and preparing the event.
