I'd say yes, it shouldn't make much difference.

They don't taste particularly similar, I would imagine a Rainwater Madiera is close enough to pass but a Bual or Malmsey is going to be quite sweet. Around here cooking-grade marsala can be had for like $4/btl (good stuff, otoh, is hard to come by). If you can get that, might as well use it.
