a total indulgence: maple walnut ice cream

Serves 8 as Dessert.

This is totally delicious, but not something to be taken lightly :)

  • c chopped walnuts walnuts
  • tsp vanilla
  • eggs
  • c maple syrup class A
  • c whole milk
  • c cream

1. heat the cream, milk and half of the syrup in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it simmers.

2. In a seperate bowl, beat the eggs and the other half of the maple syrup.

3. Add one cup of the milk mixture to the eggs, beating furiously, mix in thouroughly

4. Add in the rest of the milk in a steady stream.

5. Put the mixture back onto the stove over a low to medium heat. Stir constantly until the custard has thickened, but not over cooked.

6. Add the vanilla, chill it, and then put it into the ice cream freezer.
