We are doing a trip that we are trying to keep the food cost down for Orlando and were looking for ideas on value oriented places that would be good food. We have one 8 yr old child with us but are open to all ideas. We leave Tuesday so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Were trying to keep the prices reasonable and would love to know your favs

Thanks

There is a lot of crap and Disney and finding memorable food is tough.

One place that fits your budget that I really enjoy is Cooke's of Dublin in downtown Disney. Good hot cooked to order fish, chicken or shrimp with decent chips. Its counter service with a small dining area, but genuine good food.

This might sound silly, but in the Magic Kingdom, we eat the baked potatoes across from the haunted mansion in Liberty Square Market. They are not bad, fill you up and cost about $3.50. They also sell fruit.

My impression of the area around WDW and US is that unless you're eating in one of the parks or on property resorts, it's almost all chain restaurants. City Walk at US is all chains. Downtown Disney is slowly becoming less Disney owned and more chain owned places to eat.

Well were back and did find one exceptional dining experience that was a great value. We went there for lunch but only because we didnt find out about it sooner. The Columbia restaurant in downtown Celebration is every bit as good as the original in Tampa.

Prices were really reasonable for lunch and Dinner didn't look too expensive either. Great dining Spanish and Cuban cuisines were well represented on their menu.

I'll post this on the Orlando restaurant thead as well.
