What's the word on Foxtrot Oscar?

I have yet to go since Ramsay took over(wasn't thrilled to hear that he did). Is it still good or has he messed it up?

food is far better than it used to be and along the same lines - soup section, salad section, pies etc but atmosphere is far removed from the foxtrot of old - more like a "real" restaurant now but not as much fun.

It's perhaps the most over-reviewed restaurant in modern history. In short: it's generic. If you liked it before, you probably won't like it now. (But if you liked it before, the majority outside SW3 don't seem to like you very much.)

It was closed for atmosphere retooling in March, and this bit of PR massagement appeared in one of the Sunday red-tops towards the end of April.

FOUL-MOUTHED chef Gordon Ramsay uncovered a Kitchen Nightmare - at one of his own restaurants.

The furious TV cook dropped in unannounced at the cheekily-named Foxtrot Oscar in Chelsea, West London, and was so appalled by the food and slow service that he gave the chef a roasting and sent him home.

Then the 41-year-old star of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen and Ramsay's F-Word put on his apron and took over for the rest of the night.

A source said: "No one was expecting Gordon to turn up - but they certainly knew about it when he arrived.

"The food wasn't as good as it should have been, it was served too slowly and Gordon was not amused.

"He stormed into the kitchen and was screaming louder and louder. In the end he just lost it and told the chef to F-off home."

Ramsay's spot-check at the £30-a-head restaurant - one of his 13-strong chain - followed a £100,000 relaunch in January.

His spokesman said: "Week in, week out Gordon is at his restaurants. If he sees things aren't right he will he will roll up his sleeves and sort it out."

Fair play to him for turning up unannounced, it at least demonstrates that he cares about the quality of his restaurants, rather than merely opening places to bulk his bank balance, without a care for standards or value for money.

...or it was a clever PR stunt to draw some attention to the newly refurbished restaurant.
