'Cake' competition at Himeji

I have to admit that I know little about what I saw. On returning to the station from Himeji castle on the 31st May I stumbled on this exhibition.

Using my appalling Japanese I was able to establish that I was looking at some kind of cake competition. All the exhibits were edible.
