Heidi Van Pelt plans to open Füd, a organic vegan restaurant in Kansas City.

There's a brief web video interveiw with Ms. Van Pelt on her website.

Does anyone know anything about this restaurant? Opening, location, etc???

Very interesting......I heard about "Cafe Seed" opening up in the martini corner area recently, but nothing about this place. I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I look forward to sampling more vegetarian/vegan fare in KC.

I just had a thought: could Cafe Seed be Füd? The Füd website didn't give a target opening date. Perhaps, Füd morphed into Cafe Seed.

I thought Fud was the cafe in The Bad Seed?

So, The Bad Seed is a store, in which there is an eatery called Fud? And, this is totally a separate store/restaurant from Cafe Seed?

I'm confused.

Fud is definitely different than Cafe Seed, but I do believe they will play the music of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Fud is in the crossroads(MeGee??), it either shares the space with the Bad Seed store or is next door to it, I can't remember which. The Bad Seed is an urban organic farm run by Brooke Salvaggio, and I believe she and Heidi are teaming up to open Fud. I don't know much about the food - a lot of fake meat/cheese/mayo are used I believe, but I do know she is planning on using local and organic produce, so that's good. Also, I don't think they're doing raw food exclusively, but I think that is one area they'll focus on. I don't know about a target date for onpening, but hopefully the website gets going soon.
