Here's the link to the cookbook: http://books.boomerangbooks.com/featuredbo...921259760&db=au

I spotted Holiday at the bookstore a couple of days ago and while flipping through, thought it looked well presented and filled with recipes that are reasonable enough for me to do.

Who here has bought this book and tried any of the recipes? I'd love to hear whether you suggest (or not) buying it

Ce'nedra - I've got Bill's Open Kitchen which I really like and I've used many of his recipes from web sources. A firm favourite is Bill's coconut bread. I love his straight-forward approach to great tasting food and the attractive layout of his books.

These days, I don't have room for cookbooks if I don't use them, so I've taken to getting them from the library to preview and take a test run of recipes. This works really well for me and has saved me from purchasing books that I'll never use.

  • 4 weeks later...

I received it for review recently and I liked the book. So did my elder son who had it tucked under his arm when he moved out a while back. The emphasis seems to be on good flavours, simple recipes, everything fresh.

Some messy chunks of type here and there that are a bit intrusive. And quite a few pix of Bill but he's easy to look at...

Thanks so much for posting your link Pat Churchill! :)

Shall go off to read it now.

From your brief description above, it sounds perfect for me (I love fresh flavours and being not so great at cooking, simple is definately what I'm looking for). Thanks again!

EDIT:

I missed out on Rover oops! Thank you for offering your opinon too. I too enjoy Bill's recipes so far -I love his weekly recipes that he used to write for the Sydney Morning Herald. They always worked out beautifully for me (well, I've only tried 3 but that's good enough for me lol).
