Well, I made the 1-2-3-4 cake for my son's first birthday party yesterday, and it came out great.

But now that I've made it, I'm rather amused to report that it appears the 1-2-3-4 cake is also the foundation of the entire business of a popular cake/cupcake shop in Manhattan called the Magnolia Bakery.

"I don't mean to brag, I don't mean to boast;

but we like hot butter on our breakfast toast!"
