Center 1 Market

Recommended Posts

Center 1 Market opened today. It is sort of a coop market in that 4 different vendors share the space. Dawson's Market carries organic meats, cheeses and ready made salads, Farrell Family Breads has a booth with artisian breads and cheeses and sweets, James of Nuyaka Farms carries mostly locally grown produce from his fields, and Jill carries dips, spreads, ready made sandwiches and salads and fresh flowers.

It is located in a good location for the customer base who will shop there. I am excited especially about having James' produce without having to wait for the saturday Cherry Street Farmers Market. That and a better selection of breads from Tom Farrell's bakers.

It is good to be a BBQ Judge.  And now it is even gooder to be a Steak Cookoff Association Judge.  Life just got even better.  Woo Hoo!!!

Wow, lucky you! It sounds like Kerrytown (Ann Arbor) on a small scale. I envy you. We had an attempt at a similar situation a few years ago, but one person was running the biz and buying from area producers and growers. It was awesome being able to pick up a few things between markets. Alas, they expanded too quickly to two other locations and imploded.

Where is it?

On South Peoria in the Brookside area. It is a part of Henry Aberson's redevelopement of the west side of the block where the old Wendy's was torn down and replaced by street side building with parking in the rear.
