Hey guys,

At the end of july I will be moving out of NYC and moving to Orange county NY.

In the area where NY,NJ,PA meet.

Does anyone know of any good bakery /restaurants etc that I should include in my job search that are in that area..

Any information would be helpfull

Thanks.

Ever thought about starting your own place? Start small, work hard, and perhaps, make some money.

Good Luck --

Not really a good time to start something. since we are going into debit to buy the house.

But that is one of the reasons we moved up here was to in a few years "start something"

There seems to be alot of activity at the ski resort in Vernon NJ ...condos and shopping as well as the water park.

Downtown Warwick NYhas some dining but not much, there is a new bakery in Warwick on 94.

Sugarloaf NYis a great artsy fartsy town.

As is Milford PA.

I just dont know how much money is up there yet, I dont feel that Orange County has hit a balance of old farm folk and new city folk.

Yeah, it seems like a good way to get a lay of the land is to just get any job, get a feel for the bakery industry in general, use them for all they're worth, then start your own bakery to either fill a niche that's empty, or do better on an existing concept.

Oh, and don't be so worried about going into debt to start a business, be more concerned that you have a step by step plan to earn that money back! Home ownership debt is not going to stop any bank from lending you money, they'll be excited that now you have collatoral for your business loan.

Maybe having a chat with the people at Bobolink in Vernon NJ just off rt 94 South of the NY NJ line. They are a local beef / cheese / bread producer.
