  1. SOFT SHELLS!!! I am so there next week. Friday was on the phone (about 9:30) with a friend that has a stall at the market. He mentioned the shrimp PoBoy and it kept running thru my mind. Was there for a late lunch myself and satiated that urge. Even at 3 the counter was 4 deep. OT, just saw the Bill Gates, Jerry Seinfield commercial. I love it!!!!
  2. Han Dynasty made it. In my book everything else is sauce (or is that gravy?)
  3. Had just put a pot of water on to make some raviolli when I logged on to pass a minute or 2. Saw your photo of the fish and turned off the stove. Through the driving rain, a tropical deluge, but I knew what was on the other end. The peppers aren't fiery but had a great 'pickled' heat that lingers yet. Hot enough for me tho'. The hairs just behinds my ears are still wet. A little oily for my taste but well worth the sacrifice. The small fillets are neutral in flavor but with a great flakey texture to contrast with the wood ear and fresh whole shiratake mushrooms. Did I mention the large chunks of garlic; cloves merely halved. And the service remains true to its predecessor. Asked for more rice immediately and finally flagged down another waitress for that. Ice water came quickly but the refill required my waving the empty glass for her attention. And the chopsticks? forget about it, they never showed up. Makes me feel like the good old days. Thnaks Percy for the photo; it got me up for a pretty good meal.
  4. Has God forsaken us out here in Chester County? What have we done to make her so mad at us? Can taste the silken MaPo tofu as I write this.
  5. AZ representative here. Yes, that was quite a cross section of the industry. Lent itself to some great conversation only to be outdone by the meal. One of the grandest evenings in quite a while. My personal favorite were the prawns but that is a tough choice. The Kobe short ribs were wonderful as well. And... Okay each and every course was grand
  6. For what it offers, Inn at 7 Stars in kimberton can't be beaten. It's been around since the dawn of time and has the absolutly best prime rib east of the stockyards. Everytime I go I say tro myslef that I have to try their duck. It looks beautiful and I know it will make me happy. BUT, that beef beckons!
  7. This is great news. I used to shop in one while in DC. The place will knock your sox off. And to satisfy the eGulleters, the DC store had a small dining area where you could eat some great lunches. Perhaps this will has well.
  8. Whoa! Looking for cheap eats in Philly!!! I'm really looking forward to how this strings goes. And as an ante, My call is for the BombBomb in South Philly Really good tho' not absotivly italian and BBQ combined. There is a good reason for the combination and also for the name.
  9. I feel compelled to echo Andy when it comes to cheesesteaks. Tony, Tony, Tony Lukes!!!!!!! Part of the real appreciation is in how you eat it. Stance is feet spread apart, bend forward at the waist and chomp! Just pray that it doesn't run down your forearms; fingers are easy but the elbows are so hard to lick clean. Bring a friend to help....
  10. There's a great little irish bar with amazingly good food hidden in King of Prussia. It's called Fiddlers Green and I couldn't tell you the address. It's nestled in a housing area in a small strip mall right next to a 6!-11 convenience store. Can't tell you how to get there (my car knows the way) but do know that you have to pass a 2 story rooster on the way. Try it, pretty good reasonalbe menu and great live music in the evenings.
  11. The line starts here!!!!! Please don't tell me Jersey 'burbs.....
  12. I remember wassisname. Italian, nearly in South Philly. I remember the air conditioner over the door that was wrapped in barbed wire, even had Xmas bulbs hanging from it. One was seated at long communal tables and given some of the best red gravy I can remember. Courted my exwife there a few times... wait maybe the placer was telling me something by closing. Does anyone remember its name?
  13. Isn't there a cajun place in Essington? I've been racking my mind and driving my friend nuts trying to remember the name. Obviously not that memorable but it was close to the airport.
  14. I have to say that I've always been partial to VietNam. Great banquet diashes and if you tell teh waiter it's a special time he'll fiond someone tyhat will describe the specials. Can't go wrong there.
  15. GAWD!!!! Reading these posts just got me to salivating like a dog. Gotta go in this weekend and get my dimsum fix!!! Thanx to all for the idea.
