  1. Thanks Clotilde, I have IE http://www.parispremierevod.fr/cms/display.jsp?id=p2_324253 But my French is not good enough to read it.
  2. Did you check it with luggage or were you allowed carry it on?
  3. One of the things we always bring back is the 3 bottle carryon from the Moulin Jean Cornille in Maussane. Now with the liquid restrictions, what do you suggest is the best way to carry it home. I dread the thought of clothes soaked in olive oil.
  4. The Colombe D'Or IS in the center of the village St Paul-de-Vence and have never been disappointed. Has anyone been to Silva's new restaurant in Cannes, Ondine, since he left his Moulin in Rouet?
  5. this is being discussed on a few forums and like me, the French say balderdash. Now with the French that live in Chateaus and have a wine celler, that's a different story
  6. a good basic glossary is on Patricia Wells site.
  7. I loved Chez Denise. I was alone and seated between two French couples who were so nice and we chatted through a lunch that lasted three hours.
  8. I dislike the trendy presentation of food such as The piled high, the dribble on the plate edge, and the servings in things like test tubes.
  9. I agree with John, we use it for so many things including luggage and a good collection of PASTIS!!
  10. I tried to do the 13 desserts of Provence, one year. As a senior retired person. it was very expensive. I can't do that again.
  11. Thanks for your post. I read about Le Timbre In Saveur magazine last year and forgot about it when I was there in February.
  12. No, I did hear he was opening one in Paris. We dined at the one on Lac Annecy.
  13. We were there for only a day trip(stayed in La Rochelle) Until the Millau bridge the one to Ré was, and I think, still my favorite. We ate at one of the harborside restos and I'm not a beer drinker but did buy the local Ile de Ré Blanche and brough back my flipflop bottle. I did buy a canvas shoulder tote to carry bottles back in. it reads ile de Ré.
  14. OO-LA-LA Now that is romantic. I've never dined there but I do have fantasies
  15. That restaurant is a favorite of the posters and manager of Bonjourparis.com They give a discount if you mention the site(they did last few years)
  16. Translations often very funny. When looking up B&Bs and hotels, I often read " no farts allowed" I found out it means pets!!!
  17. It is fun, though the bar area is "jumping" too much. I like it in late fall with the stove warming you.
  18. I love Suze and always bring a bottle back, but this month a hotel here in Boston is having an intro to Aperol at a hotel.
  19. Here's a previous article for that area. Has anyone dined at Calypso? The grilled Loup de Mer is calling me. http://travel2.nytimes.com/2006/04/23/travel/23choice.html
  20. I hope it is ok to post this here. The June American Sauveur has voted Rabenal of the L'Atelier in Arles as best chef in the world. http://tinyurl.com/qtjjp

    Trendy?

I've been to Gaya, a good resto but a conservative crowd. Try Kong, It was filled with trendy types.
  22. I love the Colombe D'Or. Instead of Birthday presents, we each get to choose a special place to stay. I made that choice three times.
  23. Wow, Am I disappointed! Thanks for the update. I thought something was wrong when I didn't get an answer.
  24. In Sex and the City, Carrie is at "Kong" with the ex of the artist boyfriend.
  25. No, go to his post and click his name to send the email.
