  1. Yeah..I thought in my original post I mentioned it was only like 30 minutes
  2. I just poked him again and he said all he did was lightly coat it in oil and tossed some salt onto it. Peanut oil.
  3. Thanks everyone! Very valuable feedback. I will go back and add more details about Chamber Sealers, I see I am inadvertently ignoring people that a chamber sealer would be well suited for. I am also looking into a way to get discounts on buying bags and rolls. I think I can set up some sort of group buy to get a discount for everyone involved. Would anyone want to sign up for something like that?
  4. I think Sous Vide is a bit deeper of a subject than vacuum sealers in general and I think it will take a bit of time lol Sous vide is awesome though! I'm still amazed with it. I decided to put chamber sealers off to a later post on my site because they are A) very expensive and B) heavy! I think most people wouldn't want them for those reasons. Oil pumps are smelly and can be messy unappealing in the kitchen. Do you have a Sous Vide Dave?
  5. Why thank you Shelby. I'm happy to be home
  6. Thanks! Currently I am kinda obsessed with Cherry tomatoes and basil. For breakfast I'll have a slice of sourdough with avocado, cherry tomatoes and some basil, cracked pepper, salt, and crushed dried habanero pepper. I'll check out the preserving thread for sure, because I've been doing a lot of research on that lately. I'll hit up the garden threads as well, I could always use more advice on how not to kill my plants lol
  7. Hi Everyone! I like food, and I like being independent. Gardening is a perfect combination of the two, and nothing is tastier than veggies and fruit so fresh that you literally just picked them from the plant. It yields the best flavor overall. I'm floored that more people don't do this!
  8. Sure. I'll send him a message and ask him how he did it . It was like magic.
  9. Hey everyone! This thread is right down my alley! I'm the author of the website www.thevacuumsealerexpert.com I did a TON of research on vacuum sealers because I was looking for ways to keep my vegetables fresher for longer. I got one and was soon using it for a lot more than just that. I was portioning my meals, dedicating one day to cooking for the entire week. My freezers are a lot more organized now and I'm no longer throwing food out due to freezer burn. I seal jars a lot too, I make salads in a mason jar and put some dressing in the bottom and remove the air and I have salad for the entire week. I've lost about 60 lbs by eating less. It's a lot easier to eat the right amount when you weigh your food out and put it into an individual portion ahead of time. It's impossible to over-eat then! Please check out the article I wrote. It's my first. I hope I can help you learn something. I'm happy to answer any questions about vacuum sealing you might have!
  10. My friend has an air fryer. It is pretty damn cool. It cooks things very quickly, and it does make them crispy without as much oil as deep frying. He made a baked potato in it so fast, I couldn't believe it. The outside was crisp too. That's never happened for me in a regular oven!
  11. Raising the dead!! hahaha I use a small wardian case with lights over it to grow herbs indoors Works well.
