    Nespresso

I actually haven't tried Nespresso Pixie before, but I saw it and I find it a little too costly for my taste. It's good that you find it fitting for your lifestyle, but I guess I'm just used to making more than a single serving of coffee at a time. But it's nice to hear someone's opinion on products like this. Really validates its quality and whether or not it's worth the price.
  2. I don't think gin every goes bad like other distilled spirits. It is, however, a drink very much preferred over vodka in some parts of the world. A lot of people don't give gin much thought when making cocktails, but there are a lot of really good ones you can make with a really good bottle. From the basic gin and tonic, martini, to more complex and flavourful ones. I honestly fancy myself a Gin Sling (Singapore Sling) every now and then. All you need is your go-to trusted brand of dry gin, soda water, lemon juice, cherry brandy and lots of ice. If you want to spoil yourself a little, you can even add a Maraschino cherry for a burst of extra flavour.

    Nespresso

I'm really sorry but I've never been a fan of the Nespresso. My boss has it and sometimes shares it with us. I just feel like nothing would beat freshly brewed coffee from a coffee pot or coffee press. I guess the good thing about it is Shel_B's suggestion for recycling the pods.
  4. Huh. This is interesting. So I guess that's why some people add salt to chocolate too. It's curious though if you think of it, you add salt to coffee to block out the bitterness and same principle applies to chocolate, but people add coffee to chocolate to enhance its flavour. Food for thought.
  5. Thank you! Glad to have joined.
  6. Hi! Haha! Not real dynamite here but the flavour is explosive (wink wink). It's basically a green chili you stuff with a mixture of ground beef and ground pork (cooked and seasoned) and cheddar cheese, then wrapped with a wonton wrapper then deep fried. It's sooooo good when cooked properly.
  7. Bought a cheap ($4) bottle of Merlot today. Haven't opened it yet though so wish me luck.
  8. Dunkin hands down. I've never really liked Krispy Kreme's glazed donut because I find it too sweet for me. But points for their incredibly soft dough!
  9. They're not all tasteless. There are different variants of this and the vinegar sauce I suggested is exactly what brings these chips to life. I've stayed in the Philippines for a bit and that is how they enjoyed these just like with Pork Rinds.
  10. Hi everybody! I'm really glad to be a part of this culinary community where we can all discuss the thing we're all passionate about -- food. A bit of background, I grew up in a small family who appreciates good food. Not necessarily expensive dining but hearty, flavourful dishes. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for food so it's unfortunate that I can't further pursue my passion for cooking as a chef but just as a home cook. My signature dishes are Buffalo Wings, Baked Mussels, Dynamite, and Chicken Cordon Bleu. I look forward to meeting other food lovers here!
  11. I'd like to answer the "how to eat it" part. I've tried several of these before in different Asian countries, and the thing that they partner this with is vinegar preferably with sliced red chili and a pinch of rock salt. You just dip these bad boys in the vinegar mixture, hear it crackle, and pop 'em in your mouth. Instant flavour explosion!
